How to Bath your pet properly

Safety first for bathing your pet is main key in success. Your pet, dog or cat, in a tub or sink could possibly fall, trip or slip. For a feel of safety or security, place a mat(like a rubber door mat) made of rubber in the sink or tub. Check to see you wont slip or trip if water happens to make it on the floor or where your are standing. If by chance you are outside and using a garden hose to bath your pet, try and see that the area is secure and the pet is use to or feels comfortable. If for some chance the pet decides to bolt and run, your pet wont go run into traffic.

One thing to check before bathing your animal is that your shampoo is mild. Some shampoos can strip your animals coat of oils that is needed for physically fit skin. There are shampoos formulated correctly for your pet species if you have no mild shampoo, or you could resort to using a human infants shampoo if necessary. Also you will want to use an unscented one. Perfumed shampoos can do two things you do not want; 1, dry your pets skin out and 2, make your pet run for anything dead to hide the smell of perfume.

You want to give your pet a complete brush from head to tail before bathing. First, this will calm you as well as your pet. Second, all the dead and loose hair will be rid of . Also the remnants of hair will not be around for the possibility of ruining your plumbing.
